SUMMARY:Scaling solutions for the coal-to-clean transition
DESCRIPTION:Coal-fired power generation remains the most carbon-intensive source of energy worldwide, contributing significantly to global greenhouse gas emissions. While a transition from coal to clean electricity can bring long-term economic and climate benefits, many countries, especially emerging economies with much younger coal fleets and growing energy demand, face significant challenges in accelerating it.   Despite these challenges, the past five years have seen promising innovation in early coal retirement and clean replacement projects. This event will showcase these pilots and share the emerging lessons learnt to inform continued efforts to build the pipeline of projects globally. Speakers will also outline recommendations to governments and financial institutions on how to unlock further progress.
